The TomyTec Machinami collection is a series of collectable buildings initially meant for people to buy and trade in order to complete their collection. They weren't specifically meant to be used with model trains, but they fit really well. In the past years, 7 different collections have been released, and the first 4 have been re-released due to popular demand.

Each of the collections feature several buildings (often 6 unique buildings, each in 2 color variants) with a different general theme. Some collections also come with pieces of road in order to easily create a typical small Japanese side street. Other collections contain small rural train stations and many other things.

Apart from the Machinami collections, there are also many other TomyTec collections, each of which fits well with the other collections. Other collections include trucks, busses, farms, people, and many more.
