Once again, a new backend for the page

So, the site now runs on WordPress, which has been rather heavily modified with various plugins, as well as received a custom theme. The great thing about WordPress is that it is obviously one of the more popular blogging platforms, but in time it has grown into a very capable CMS. Some bits and pieces feel a little shoe horned in there, but on the whole things work as one would expect them to. Keeping updated with the latest versions of plugins and the core system is also a lot less problematic, or at least a lot less time consuming, so I’m hopeful that I’ll actually be able to keep adding content to the site.

Obviously, there’s not much content there yet, and what little there is for the most part unfinished, or just placeholder text. I’m in the process of writing a couple of articles to add though, and rolling stock will be added over time. I have quite a lot of rolling stock, and I want to make these nice little schematic images (like those for the 500 series and DD51) for each of the trains I have, so it’s going to take a while.

I’m also aiming to post something approximately once a week, be it a new train, progress on the layout, a decoder install report, or anything else I can think of, but I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to due to work load and whatnot. The idea of posting more often though is that I actually have to get my lazy arse in gear and make sure I have something to write about. That way there might be a slight chance I’ll end up getting something done :)

So yeah… Have fun with the lame amount of content that’s there, and if you have a question, want to get in touch, or want your site listed on the links page, just get in touch with me through the contact form.
